Nikkei falls more than 3 pct early on yen fears
TOKYO, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Tokyo shares tumbled more than three percent at the start of trade on Wednesday, as traders sold shares on fears the yen would strengthen after the Bank of Japan's surprise decision late on Tuesday to leave its monetary policy unchanged.

Although the yen retreated modestly to around the 105 yen per dollar mark in early Tokyo trade, from around 104 yen earlier in the Asia morning, traders said the stock market was unnerved by expectations of currency volatility ahead.

At 0016 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei average traded down 611.05 points, or 3.41 percent, at 17,321.74.
