oops, bill i haven't followed beyond there is an earthquake and conflicting counts on the dead and injured. latest i have been seeing is 1700 dead. here is a yahoo page that links taiwan news stories from around the world.

Fleck, I think it is going to take awhile. I just saw the Taiwan rep (they don't have an ambassador) to the US on PBS and it is a real mess. I believe him, since he wasn't calling for food aid, etc., but for professional search and rescue teams. Fortunately, a bunch are on the way.

Bill, i just read your rap and you commented on the astonishing performance of the nutz in the face of broad selling...could you elaborate a bit on Michael Belkin's prediction? what i'm trying to find out is if he sees this sector continuing to go up even if the selling in the broader market just continues, sort of bounce-less as it were, or if this is more in the category of one-day wonders. my only involvement in the sector is a small short position in flea-bay which i'm not too concerned about. i'm only interested in this because the nutz have often been front-running major market moves this year and they may have signaled today that one perhaps shouldn't get too bearish yet.
