So, the Jewish survivors struggled to create their own safe haven, Israel; their own country where they would in control of their own destiny. Shortly after Jews found their own homeland, they were attacked on all sides, and were badly outnumbered by forces bent on their final destruction. Israel had no chance of winning, but, in biblical proportions, and with God blessings, they won that which could not be won. The Jews fought back, and won many times, and are now a very powerful "little" country. All freedom loving people should be proud of Israel's "David vs Goliath" victories. If you are embarrassed by the great achievements of one of the smallest minorities in the world, I would have to wonder if you've had failures or lack of achievements, and might be looking for someone else, like Israel, to blame.
