Thread: A review of May on the Yahoo thread:

Back in May on Yahoo somebody doodled up some numbers which suggested that the GvH application might only be worth something like ~50M a year in revenue. He also commented that if it becomes necessary for the oncologist to throw the switch (if patients show GvH) then you also kill the cells that are giving the graft versus tumor effect--cancer remains. Again risking the wrath of the so-called experts over on Yahoo, I will say that if doctors could be really aggressive with BMT, adoptive immunotherapy, then you could probably get a lot of GvL effect before GvH develops (let's just forget the tumors for a second and cure one thing at a time--BMT and T-cell therapy is mainly for Leukemias, right??)

A while back I posted some newbie links on GvH disease, probably here on SI...but a quick search at Oncolink might help to answer this question--how fast does GvH develop again and in what percentage of
patients--I'll review my stack of DD on this critter and check on that.

Now regarding GvH product as being worth 50M...Naturally one fella posted a scathing response in the following post, but, IMHO he was right on in pointing out that GvH is merely the proof of concept for ARGENT. And the easiest way to confirm the potential of ARGENT is by doing a query at recap.com, where one will see human Growth Hormone and Insulin now listed.

Anyway, I do like to go back and pan for the smattering of
thoughtful posts from time to time...and here are a few more:

yahoo #1017 and 1034 by sicososa are two to read again, 1030 by DocLung has some comments about management which sound reasonable, but if you read 1031 by IndusiumGresium (then do a quick scan of yahoo for further posts), this IG person is no slouch. Doc and IG sort of cancel out in my mind, and I wouldn't still own this if I didn't think Ariad managment eventually will do something good for finances=good for
shareholders.

That was all the good stuff I could extract from May.
I'll do June in a few days--unless the boys on Yahoo get
all mean and nasty about being quoted over here.

Finally, I once posted that I probably only had the patience to stay in the trading portion of my position in ARIA through the end of September, and for sure, the suspense is a bit much to handle--but
I think I may not start lightening up til mid October--and maybe not at all--that way if some of the selling was due to end of the quarter, maybe next month will go better, maybe we have seen the bottom. It
would sure be nice to see some shorts get nervous...it would sure
be nice if the folks at Ariad would do a little PR and makes the
shorts nervous.
