OG,

I understand your point about improving earnings through cost-cutting alone. And it is troubling that the fastest growing unit (Palm) is being spun off (as several analysts have noted). Unless the Palm spin-off is preparatory to selling the rest of the company (a total gamble at best), it may perhaps be better to simply buy Palm at the IPO. Food for thought. This company can be enigmatic.
