Probably you already know all this and perhaps you question was rhetorical, but both immediately prior to and after a secondary the "investment bankers" are legally allowed to engage in stabilization activities. Under other circumstances such activities would be illegal, if for no other reason than their being coordinated with other firms.

Thus, while one may not know what if anything has been done to "stabalize" a stock during the offering period, one does know that the price action cannot be relied on to mean something.

Again, just take this as a reminder of what you already knew.
