Kudos to Ampex for having the foresight to engage Hugh Downs.<<<<< I'm getting a delayed broadcast of the show right now, but Hugh's not on yet. There's some English fellow talking. (Hope I didn't miss it, or that it's an old show. This guy is talking about his dead shriveled father, laying in the casket.) I was busy downloading pix of Fifties Pinup Queen, Bettie Page, from her newsgroup, and I forgot to turn the TV on until now. It's one of my daily rituals. Takes the edge off owning Ampex. And Kudos for US!!!!! It was somebody here, I believe, that suggested we might be lucky to get Hugh Downs. And then, somebody at Ampex read the post, gave him a lot of stock, and sewed up the deal. So, for once, somebody at Ampex listened to US....Makes me want to cry. WE THOUGHT IT UP, not AMPEX....... Who, pray tell, was that person who made the first suggestion that we get Hugh Downs? My hat's off to him.......al

Yay!!!!!. Hugh just came on, and sounds great. I will break down and admit that I am a member of "Generation X-"lax...........I dig Hugh...Always did..Hope he makes it through the entire show without a sudden death episode. (Just kidding, Hugh, in case you're lurking. I'm in worse shape than you.) It must be the PBS lighting..Charlie Rose looks kind of green himself........ This ought to be good for a little price pop tomorrow, I'll betcha......Up, of course... al
