James,

Like most of us here at the thread, I am jubilant about finally recovering my paper losses in Corel. This took over 4 years to accomplish!!!!!!!! Please don't spoil the party! :)

Let's look at a time-line horizon up ahead. There are several Linux events lined up in which Corel will share the spotlight:

1. Nov 15 - 19
Comdex - zdevents.com

2. Approximately End of November
Production Version of Corel Linux will be released

3. Approximately 1st Quarter 2000
WP Office Suite for Linux starts shipping

It's no wonder why Merill Lynch has raised its rating on Corel Shares to "accumulate". There is so much excitement about this company and the possibility to earn revenues from a new operating system which is not dominated by MS.

Coincidently, it amazes me that MS has 100 times the market capitalization of the world's second largest vendor of Productivity Applications - Corel. With the MS proceedings wrapping up and Linux fervor very hot, I view Corel as a good speculative play.

Momentum is momentum. Just look at another Canadian High Tech firm - Research in Motion (RIMM on Nasdaq) It has gone from US$6 13/16 to US$ 38 1/8 in the past year and is currently trading near its 52 week high.

Sincere best wishes to all in your investing.

(I've been following this thread since before the days of Vanni Resta, Bean Counter and the rest of the crew and am just beginning to voice my opinions)
