Get-Rich Tip: Combine your best assets. He has great cheekbones and she has lustrous blond hair. Or he has strong verbal skills and she's a financial whiz. They find each other, throw caution to the wind, and hope their offspring possess the best of each partner. It works the same way in company mergers. Tuesday Bell Atlantic and Britain's Vodafone AirTouch joined their wireless operations and created the nation's largest mobile phone company, with a genetic makeup so superior it beats even AT&T. It's amazing what can happen in nine months. Now, both sides of the family are smiling over the bundle of joy and the lift it's giving their stock prices.
