Omicron Makes Key Additions to Senior Management Team
BELLINGHAM, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1999--Omicron Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: OGPS) is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the senior management team of its wholly owned subsidiary, Interactive Radio Corporation. Interactive Radio Corporation has acquired patented interactive digital satellite radio technology that delivers an interactive navigation, broadcast and two-way communication system for automobiles, trucks and recreation vehicles. This integrated package of digital services will provide consumers with digital quality music, e-commerce, e-mail, Global Positioning System (GPS), security, travel and gaming at a relatively low cost.
Dr. Thomas Horan will oversee planning and government affairs. Dr. Horan played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Federal Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) program providing detailed research and planning for the U.S. Congress (1991). Subsequently, he led the policy market assessments for a major Rockwell Corp. Project to devise a National ITS Systems Architecture on behalf of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. In addition, Dr. Horan has advised a number of private companies on developments and use of advanced transportation and digital technologies. For the last several years Dr. Horan has been the Institute Director and a faculty member at Claremont Graduate University (CGU), where he recently led the CGU's new School of Information Science research efforts on telecommunications and e-commerce planning and business applications. Dr. Horan has been a Visiting Scholar/Senior Fellow at Harvard University, MIT, University of Minnesota and George Mason University. He has published and presented on the subjects of transportation, ITS technologies, digital technology planning, and Internet applications and impacts.

Thomas C. Jedrey will serve as Senior Consultant for product development. Mr. Jedrey, an Electrical Engineer, is currently the Group Supervisor for Wireless Communications at the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL). Mr. Jedrey manages a group of engineers developing microwave, mobile, sensor and personal communications systems. These include evaluation of emerging satellite systems, development of a wireless camera network, development of a wireless communications system for Space Station Freedom, various modulation and demodulation developments in FPGA and ASIC formats, robotic communications, and development of various aeronautical, shipboard, and vehicular communication payloads. These developments have ranged from system design to the integration and field tests. Mr. Jedrey has been a senior consultant to a number of companies in the communications field and is the author of over thirty publications.

Further to Omicron's September 15, 1999 news release, Gary Noreen will serve as Chief Technology Officer. Noreen was the founder, Chairman and CEO of Radio Satellite Corporation and the pioneer of this technology and holder of the original patents. Noreen has been at JPL for the past 6 years, most recently as a Senior Engineer in the Advanced Missions Office of the Telecommunications and Mission Operations Directorate of JPL. In this position, Noreen has been coordinating the development of communications networks for missions to Mars. Noreen has extensive experience in regulatory actions, financing and technical analysis. In his previous position as a Director of the American Mobile Satellite Corporation, he assisted in raising over $140 million and co-wrote AMSC's FCC application for its MSAT satellite (Nasdaq: SKYC).
