per, i agree. many execs are no more than bean counters and cut folks - even when it doesn't make economic sense to do so. it is easy to do and they can say they did something. creative management and a thorough understanding and analysis of a situation is rare. what kind of skill does it take to say, "do it with 4 instead of 5!"? i know they do more than that, however, nothing deserving of the current compensation level. this is the good ole boy network in full effect transferring wealth to themselves - away from shareholder and workers. bottom line. however, the avg shareholder is now so dumb that i can see how hard it is not to take advantage of them if one is so inclined.
