HI MATTIE!

I never mixed shorts and longs but i have studied some of old posts by Zane Myers, one of Clint's influences and he was doing the same. One of the reasons was psychological: "to not get overly bearish or bullish". I thought that was interesting since i will get caught in the emotions of the market. Mixing longs and shorts would be interesting experiment. It might reduce returns in clearly trending markets but could also be a safety net to cushion surprise moves. I Noticed a while ago that you were long stocks but short the indexes. Is that how you usually play it? And how do you assign dollar amount? Do you have certain %ages like in uptrending market 80%long vs 20% short or is not clearly defined?
