PACW=Pacific Western National Bank of Pico. I assume if Pacwest will trade under this symbol, the bank will be reassigned a new symbol shortly before the IPO. I have seen this a fair amount recently, and occasionally the "old" company gets a small flurry of activity a few days before the IPO by investors who think they are somehow buying into the IPO.
