I also advise turning the computer off before you try anything. Found that out once and it didn't cost me ANYTHING! (Almost burned my fingers though).

well, i was 50% right. or wrong, as the case may be. at least an isa card won't fit into a pci slot.

and while i've never physically tried to stick a pci card into an isa slot, i'd say it would be darn unintuitive to do so, and that if a person couldn't see that what they were doing was inherently wrong, they have no business opening the case in the first place. i think it's a little like saying one could park his car in his garage if he wanted to. sure would look out of place, but you could do it.

but thank you, i stand corrected.
