DaveMG: Few things get by you but seems like the Symbian relationship did. I have been watching with extreme interest the willingness of the Q to invest in Phone.com when it was a private company called Unwired Planet, and the Q's joining the WAP group some time ago and work with Symbian in that context. This is all because I was very concerned that the Q not repeat not get too entangled in WinCE - certainly not on an exclusive basis. The relationship with 3 Com and Palm Pilot is also alive and well. Therefore as usual, Dr J and company are on the ball - to put it mildly. Four, count em, four ways to use state of the art browsers and get data to the internet. Like wow ! Chaz

<< Unless I'm mistaken this is the first explicit statement regarding a Q/Symbian relationship.>>

And it will be interesting to see how the Q's WirelessKnowledge partner Msft reacts to this, since Msft has been trying diligently to woo away the major Symbian partners. ...Tim

DaveMG: Here is where I saw the first specific report on Symbian and the Q.

From Sept 15 report from idler post # 41257 :

"future chips will have multiple CPUs will be able to run Windows CE, Symbian, Palm operating systems at same time"

This was actually the first concrete confirmation I had. Up until then I just knew that the Q was "participating" in WAP and "working with" Symbian.
