Maybe I am way off on this idea being a reason for the tanking of the markets, but I will throw it out as well...

The recent devastating earthquake in Taiwan. They do produce a lot export. Any way that this is a factor?

Fact is, things are looking up.

The markets over there reflect this belief that, longer term, the turn is in.

Major money flows into the Yen and underlying financial instuments are a harbinger of a stronger economy.

Perhaps the pressure on the MoF will yield the necessary fundamental reform which the markets are discounting despite the overall weak current demand.

There's lots of old "coal" lying around Japan to stoke a massive turnaround. Just looking for the fuse to lite the keg. It could come in the form of a simple change in belief.
