Bradley, no slave to the First Amendment:

Bradley says advocacy groups should pay for opponents' responses to ads

By Donald Lambro
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Democratic presidential candidate Bill Bradley proposed yesterday that all advocacy groups who run political ads should be required to pay opponents for the cost of responding to them.

While campaigning in New Hampshire, the former New Jersey senator, who is a strong advocate of campaign finance reform, said that "special interest groups that run political advertisements should pay their opponents to respond," according to the Associated Press.

Actually maybe it's not so moronic after all. Maybe we could mandate 10% of all abortion fees go to anti abortion groups. 20% of dues to the ABA should go to groups advocating tort reform. 2cents of every ad dollar from NBC, ABC, CBS news could go to the Media Research Center.
