I think you got the story wrong. ML is setting up a unit trust consisting of 20 inutz which will be traded on the AMEX. So people were buying the rumor, I suppose under the theory that ML is going to have to go out and buy a bunch of shares. I'm not so sure they don't already have that base covered. In any event, seems like any old news will put the spotlight on the nutz and drive 'em up.
