J-14, Jesus as many races...

Hi J-14,

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful response.

And you bring up an interesting point when you invert the famous phrase, "god created man in his image" to "man created god in his image". I also think many other human characteristics have been attributed to god besides the physical.

As a matter of inquiry, what is the Catholic church's representation of Christ? What do they show at the Vatican? Is the image white? And why do so many of the candles I see in the Latin shops in my area that have the nice illustrations on them have a white/non-latin looking Jesus? Why don't they use latin looking Jesus? Or, is Jesus represented historically inaccurate. Moses too... any religious figure. I believe we are entering the area of myth.

I invite you to continue our thoughtful, respectful discussion of this subject as I know I have a continuing curiosity about this and I will probably learn a lot about myth, history and religion.

Just my opinion.

Jon :)

J-14:

NOT!!

God having made us in HIS image cannot but help to present himself to US in an image that is "like us".

Likewise, the enemy satan, knowing this, since satan was ( past tense )the highest archangel, to deceive us would naturally present himself to fallen mankind only as a familiar image........for satan's forte' is deception....there would not be one person on the face of the earth that would worship satan in lieu of Jehova if they could but see him as he is..

In Christ.gregor
