McDonough (NY Fed Bank Pres) says dollar level no threat to U.S. economy: Message 11335014 - My general opinion on the flurry-of-Fed-fellows filling the airwaves with their Fedspin: Knock it off! They, instead of the economic data, are becoming the news and whipsawing the market even more than it might otherwise do... Maybe its time for Dr Greenshades to muzzle the flock? My sense is that some of them are even starting to backpedal on an Oct. rate hike adding confusion to an already confused market. Perhaps issuing more detail on the rationale for their decisions after each FOMC meeting might be more constructive to investors than trying to spin each piece of economic data as it is released.
