Incorrect phrase, "What is the meaning of life" if there were meaning then you would have to accept, acknowledge "pre-ordainment" and that doesn't exist. To make yourself happy, fulfilled, contented, these are the things that you must strive for and the things you do and how you do them to accomplish these adjectives are what ultimately define you,and are you, you are the ultimate achievement of your existence, live your life on a very high standard, but first define and set your own standards, refer to "Platos dialogs" the teachings of Socrates. You will find ultimate satisfaction following his ways. The two most important words in your life will be "Tolerance" and "Comprehension"......enough said, now go into the struggle and become the person that you are.

Jon, as a post script to my message I would like to add the following for your consideration, this was told to me by a very wise man " Girl who rides bicycle pedals ass all over town" and most important of all in your search for the "meaning"......during your travels "if you come to a fork in the road be sure to take it".

Jon K.: Well, you have contributed to the thread I started, so I am going to make a stab at contributing to yours. Hey, you got me worried about you with that "I feel like ending it all" a few post back.

I don't think there is a meaning of life, period. But, there is a goal....HAPPINESS! It is different for everyone, but it should be your goal. Make sure you look for it under the right rock. It is not money, it is a state of mind.

The best way to be happy is to have a purpose. The best purpose is to do something with your life that benefits others as well as yourself or allows you to benefit others as well as yourself.

Life is a journey from birth to death. Enjoy the trip all along the way. Don't sacrifice segments of your life waiting for things to get to the right point...seek HAPPYNESS FIRST, life will then take care of itself.

Regards,
LG

Oh, you want SPECIFIC examples of how to make life "better"? Okaaaayyyy.....

1. Stay away from self-destructive practices.
2. Remember to always forgive others easily their transgressions, particularly if directed at you.
3. Remember to never easily forgive your own transgressions, as they serve to correct your life's stance.
4. Never confuse items 2 & 3.
5. Love one another.
6. Do to others as you'd expect them to do to you.
7. Husband the Earth. It's the only home we have. And always keep in mind evolution is the Creators ultimate weapon used on any species foolish enough to exceed its limits.
8. Exercise the Art of altruistic Choices. These choices should not be exclusively about yourself. Help others without regard for how it benefits you.
9. Spend time in guiding children. They are the ultimate gift we leave to the future.
10. Remember, and contemplate, on the quiet center within us all. That center which understands right, from wrong.

;-)
