Remembering, Blue would too, how frustrating the pr silence has been B4... til there it is w/ flurries of mindblowing news, pounding its chest like Tarzan nose-riding the bottlerocket with other Big Nets. Go2net's not on Exhibitor List '99 at events.internet.com & it wasn't last year either - last year the absence concerned me, this year I see it and smile. That GNET's Independent is A Gap Speaking Volumes to the Upside IMHO. They got it all together already, clicquish-like with PA and Who-Knows-Who. They seem to have no trouble making acquisitions and networking outside of conventions. And I suspect they might not want reps out there yapping about what's in the works dontchathink? No valuable hype time wasted on a bad market; This one gathers no moss in a vacuum. Yep, mighty quiet, almost too quiet..... When GNET bought Dogpile Search Engine awhile ago the lowkey info came and went like a blip, like that stocktools engine buy awhile back (I forget the name of it but a nice one) those goodies haven't been implemented fully here on SI yet which they're probably working on & doesn't it make you wonder what they're saving the old SI for and what they'll be doing with the infrastructure of that? No big brags about Dogpile or any of the other acquisitions it's done since the spring; just news that came and went as the market traded lousy. So now Go2net's got it covered from the macrocosm to the microcosm - Dogpile to Metacrawler. Yep GNET's been flat, but it's good 2C the 60's seem to be the low level pps (does P & F agree?) for now. Plenty room to grow, for sure... and your mention of it's being quiet fits in with how it's operated in the past. I like their style - no unconsciousness of effect, no neglect, one hand knows what the other one is doing. That's why my shares never quack all the way dry.
