Since PC133/VC is cheaper, and your most likely change to improve performance is simply more memory, the less expensive, higher density PC133/VC is the better choice

so if rambus is cheaper then rambus rdram would be your first choice right?

By the way, you will notice that Camino only supports 512MB of memory, and that's using 128Mbit devices. That's a step backward from current SDRAM systems, which support 1GB (440BX) or 2GB (440GX) with 128Mbit devices.

My year-old 440GX motherboard is looking pretty good!

Dan,

Most likely you would benefit most from more memory to allow a larger disk cache. Since PC133/VC is cheaper, and your most likely change to improve performance is simply more memory, the less expensive, higher density PC133/VC is the better choice.

That's a good suggestion; unfortunately, my three-year-old, state-of-the-art-at-the-time system supports a maximum of 65M, which is where it's at.

Dave
