its highly likely when the panic wave hits that the mkt will absorb anything MER throws at that net trash.... when the bond breaks 6.2, we gonna get a first class debacle

Ice, imo there's no way Mother Merrill has acquired shares for a UIT that hasn't even filed (I'm assuming word would have leaked out long ago if they had already filed). They would have no idea how much to buy and they would take on huge price risk. I only wonder if they've found a way to acquire the stocks without tapping the open market. Lots of investors were really pissed when REITs sold shares directly to firms doing UITs when the group was hot. And perhaps a really complex derivative strategy to acquire shares might be concocted, although that seems far-fetched.

I find it humorous that MER is calling the UIT shares "HOLDRs" -
it is going to use HHH to distribute its inventory of Internet
stocks to the perennial bagHOLDR, the retail customer.

ice-these things are always tricky but when i wrote about it i didnt know if it was true.now that i have the data i would say mer will buy them tomorrow if they didnt today but it doesnt matter because enough people front ran the idea that it will be a on event ex whatever dumb retail money buys these stocks not knowing that someone else has already front run the whole idea ,if it wasnt the trust itself buying.tempting to short a bunch of them but we will have to see if it plays out as i suspect.
