TI develops software for faster designing of DSP chips; how might this affect Qcom?

lkj, echo from the phone sounds more like a carrier problem, or perhaps you just have a defective unit. maybe the techies have an answer. 1 drop call out of 53 is actually pretty good, less than 2%, and is as likely a location/carrier dead zone.

I'll retain my excitement. The ThinPhone has a 400mAH battery. I have two 1960's, and have averaged between 64 and 72 hours with PrimeCo and Sprint systems. My only long term use of the external battery yielded 3 1/2 hours talk and 4 days standby. As of this morning, my Sprint 1960 with an external battery is on day 4 and has had 30 minutes of talk and has 3 bars showing on the battery meter(shows external battery charge). Once the external is drained , there is a full charge waiting on the internal battery. The network is the key to standby times. As I am sure you are aware, poor coverage=higher battery use. Reports on the Nokia 6185 are similar to what you state--claimed standbys of 120 hours are more like 1 to 2 days if you tally the complaints. So, the new MSM is a breakthrough, and will yield a variety of results for talk and standby in all the different configurations that manufacturers may come up with.
