Well, I would personally deplore such tactics, and I do deplore the activities of the Irgun that I am sure of, and fret about those that have been alleged. I will say that there was an aura of desperation around a lot of it, which I consider mitigating. Remember, not only was it merely a couple of years since the liberation of the camps, but Europe was full of displaced persons, many of them Jewish, living miserably. I will also say that the support of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, and some other regional Arab leaders, for the Nazis had pretty much convinced even the more less nationalistic of the Zionists that a binational state was impossible....Anyway, since the Haganah at times had its own shoot- outs with the Irgun, I am not so sure that formal cooperation was possible. Informal, among individuals, I don't know.....
