I don't think the cross was stolen, it was in waist high grass between a fence and a corn field. Much more likely the deer have knocked it through the fence in their travels. Today I saw a dog in the yard with 6 feet of cable hooked to it's collar. I put the dog in our kennel and hung the leash from the mailbox in case someone was looking and went in to get dressed. I went out to drive around and do some door knocking and went to give the dog some biscuits. Dog was gone but the chunk of leash was still on the mailbox. Kennel was locked back up so it must have been the owner. The SOB never knocked on the door to tell me he was taking the dog. If I hadn't gone to the kennel with the biscuits I'd have been driving around all morning for nothing. I think that was a little rude.
