ORACLE CORP. ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PROMOTIONS IN ORACLE(R) CONSULTING

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sep 23, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL), the number one choice of e-business solutions, today announced the strategic promotions of Keith Block and Valerie Borthwick to senior vice presidents of Oracle(R) Consulting. Keith Block was promoted to senior vice president, North American Consulting, with responsibility for Oracle's largest consulting business, consisting of the U.S. and Canadian practices, and Valerie Borthwick was promoted to senior vice president, Worldwide Consulting Service Lines, Solutions and General Business Consulting, with responsibility for Oracle's global service lines.

In addition to his new responsibility for Oracle's North American Consulting practice, Block will also sit on the Oracle Consulting management committee and will lead the Global Data Warehousing practice. Block joined Oracle in 1986 as a staff consultant, and has held positions of successive responsibility. Most recently, he was Group Vice President of the Eastern U.S. Consulting practice, and under his leadership over the last two years, this practice grew over 100 percent and the number of consultants increased from 650 to 1,350.
