The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Sept. 23, edition that Canadian banks went on a discount brokerage buying spree yesterday with Bank of Montreal acquiring a Chicago-based firm, and Toronto-Dominion Bank's TD Waterhouse Group picking up a British broker.
