Hsinchu Science Park -- home to many of Taiwan's high-
technology firms -- has been shut since Tuesday. The normal
combined output of companies there is more than NT$2 billion per
day, according to the commission.

Taiwan Power Co., the state power monopoly, said it restored
80 percent of the park's power today.

Here's a rebuttal of sorts:

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM:
news, msgs) said its mask-making shop is up and
running, it is pressuring its purified water lines used
to wash chips and it was able to ship wafers already
at the end of the production process. The two big
aftershocks that rocked the island nation didn't hurt
the foundries. The company still hopes to regain full production capacity
one week after it gets full power, which is expected as early as tomorrow.
