Right, the difficult part is to evaluate how a given system is correlated to market performance. I'm also interested in mixing TA with FA screening based on projected earning growth forward PE and so on. There isn't so much handy database for current data and if you want to backtest, IBES looks good but very expensive. I found recently Prosearch by Telescan which has a very nice web based tool for FA/TA screening. Unfortunately their backtesting is too restrictive. I know there is also a software with the same name, but I don't know if the backtesting is better.
