Perhaps you should do a little bit more homework on ACRI. The FCC mandated that 50% of all TV's be v-chip compliant by July 1 of this year and 100% compliant by Jan. 1, 2000. The adopted standard is an exact match with the technology that Soundview (owned 67% of ACRI) owns and will have to be licensed by every OEM that sells in the USA. Industry wide licensing agreement of about $1.50 per TV should be about the right royalty rate. With over 28M TV's sold in the USA, this would translate into over $1.50 in earnings for ACRI locked in for the next 4 years. This is only 1 of their companies. Other owned companies such as Combi-Matrix (bio-chip technology similar to AFFX) and Soundbreak.com have much more to offer in the intermediate term. I don't think CMGI has earned over a buck a share yet. So you might want to check this one out before deciding to go short. But short term gyrations may create an opportunity for you that I'm sure you've taken advantage of already!
