Wizard,

My "rose colored glasses" are the same as most folks in the industry. Perhaps I'm wrong...but there's a huge group of people here with me on the boat. ;-)

Industry analysts have been revising overall router revenue projections up and this is a good indicator of a very healthy industry.

Most excellent. I haven't seen this data but if it's true it is indeed good news!

Juniper is the first company to take router market share from Cisco in what, 10 years? and it is doing it in the most strategic place --> in the largest,
new networks being built.

Really? First you say JNPR has 100% market share...that there is no competition in the "next-generation router" market. Then you say they are taking market share.

Of course every study I have, some of which I've posted here show JNPR as a rounding error in the core routing market - a market that will probably be shadowed by optics going forward. So what is it? Does JNPR have 100% market share in a new, as of yet undefined, market (as you would have it). Or are they a blip on the screen in the existing core router market. Remember they have less than 5% market share according to industry reports.

Please show us the data that JNPR has taken market share and that they are winning business against the GSR. I'll lay odds that they're displacing more ATM switches than they are 12000's.

OG

Quite right. I expect JNPR to focus on OC-192 and MPLS, and do both very well.
