- D-VHS has been a DATA recorder, not a VIDEO recorder. That may now be
changing. C-Cube's DVexplore MPEG-2 codec is being incorporated into
JVC's HM-DR10000 D-VHS machine. It is to be available in November in
Japan and will offer stunt-mode playback (a feature lacking in previous
D-VHS machines). The maximum data rate is 14.1 Mbps (eight hours per
tape -- 24 hours on a single tape at 4.7 Mbps).

Apparently he dosen't know about Sony, I'll fire off an EMail to him...
