Kaye, Thx, I stand corrected. Hopefully I did last year's taxes right ;-( Very nice web page you're building! I bookmarked it and saw several topics I'll have to study later. Under your section for Traders you give guidelines for how the IRS decides whether one is a trader. It looks like there's a lot of gray area, as usual. Are there any specific case law examples you could add to help shed light on how the courts have ruled and possibly narrow the gray area?

Another area I'm very interested in is tax accounting for traders who pool funds in a LLC. Also, are there any vehicles available that could allow capital gains, dividends and interest to remain untaxed until funds are actually withdrawn by a member? I doubt it but it sure would be nice.
