Zeev: Although I believe most, if not ALL, Nasdaq buy/sell transactions are in effect double counted because of the insertion of the MM market maker(or almost double counted since you have to allow for MM to MM transactions), I'll have to admit I know of no allowance being made of later. Particularly as it relates to large vs small cap's. What you refer to MAY be a part of a prior governmental legal action brought about by MM's running amok with their power(see the SEC web site for information regarding the outcome/merits of the suit).

Still, I believe the answer to your question might be found by first calling Nasdaq at 202-496-2500. I myself have just placed a call, and left a voice mail msg, to an Associate Director of Regulation & Policy down in Maryland with regard to your question, as I'm curious about this as well.

Let's see if he responds....
