Got to be. Otherwise, why would the head of a corp. say "Our stock isn't worth that much" Do you think that Jack Welch would ever stand up and say anything like that about GE? The stock holders would beat him to the door, and he would never make it out. That just ISN'T done. Strangest thing that I've ever heard of, coming from a CEO, or whatever his title is.

I'm wondering if his ref. to 'California gold rush' wasn't "Stop stealing our good folks with stock options." And this is how msft is dealing with it, since they don't have a lot of other alternatives. Of course, they could say the same about the the NW inet companies, but let's face it, California-bashing plays much better locally and across the nation! Disclaimer: I love it here and I don't care what people think. <g>
