If I may, I think Volty's point is that someone is on the Buy side of all those trades. That someone has a bucket of $$ and a shovel. ????

Great fun to watch. Program trading kicks in. (Who is doing that I wonder, the individual investor?) And AP, Reuters and the media say that "Investors" (note the word traders or manipulators is never used) are driving the market down. And the little guys (that's us folks, if we sell or have stop loss orders -- better known as guaranteed loss orders--panic as the waves of selling hit) Look and you may see.
