I think that there is some truth to this. It's basically the same
thing that people like Ellison have been saying for a long time. If
you read email over the net, for example, you may upgrade your browser
once in a while, but the web site can upgrade their sites once a
month and it doesn't hurt you a bit (as long as they test their own
stuff).

So I think that companies like MSFT will be hurt by this. It's less
relevant to ORCL, since buying a new version of the database isn't
the same thing as getting the latest release of Office.
