Frank, What i don't like about his statements is that it caused a bigger drop in MSFT than some other techs. I don't believe those were his intentions. It was like giving a profit warning--even though it was not. I am happy that he did not single out MSFT and make a negative comment about earnings or growth. I take that part as a positive.
Bill Gates used to say that MSFT stock was overvalued years ago. Nobody listened to him. I guess we should do the same and ignore Ballmer's "analysis".

Maybe he was trying to knock down internet stocks so MSFT could make some acquisitions. I don't believe his intention was hurt MSFT more than the rest of the techs. I am expecting some clarification from him soon.

One of the reasons that MSFT is lagging AOL in
internet subscriber growth is that Steve Ballmer
doesn't see the internet as MSFT's core business.
Since more and more applications can be performed
on the web, the internet is making MSFT's software
core competency increasingly obsolete.
Ballmer is more a hindrance than a help to MSFT.
But Gates is at fault too for listening to him.

... I will cast my shares to vote him out...

Steve Ballmer has over 400 million MSFT shares.

Cheers, PW.
