<<I was so worried that he'd screw up, and I got so excited thinking about it while it was on, that I peed on myself...>>

I am mainly a lurker, but I must say that your wit constantly cracks me up Al! <LOL> Good luck with your AXC investment!

Since, even in this age of increasing technology, I don't even have cable and could not watch CNBC I was eagerly awaiting reports of the momentous moment. It all sounds at least positive, even if reading the reports did remind me a little of "Rashomon!" <VBG>

In the meantime, in the FWIW department (very little), there is an article in today's New York Daily News about Hugh Downs leaving 20/20 and his future plans. Comments pertinent to EXBTV are the following:

"....He's leaving the show and the network to write commentaries for a new Web site covering Washington, D.C.

Being on the air for 21 years is a long time. He had never stayed in one place that long. Also, Downs sees the future of media outside of the television screen.

"I honestly think mainstream television has become rather centrist as opposed to other venues," he said.

""The more I've studied the Internet and think I know it, within hours I find I'm a month behind," he added. "It's so fast-moving, so raw, I just can't stay away from this.""

"More important, by doing weekly commentaries for www.EXBTV.com he'll have a less hectic work pace and be able to write from his home in Arizona.

For Downs, the move to the Internet in a way parallels his shift from radio to TV more than 45 years ago. "I kinda wanted television to go away," Downs said of the then-emerging new medium. "I finally realized I couldn't lick it, so I might as well join it."
