NEW YORK, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley said on Tuesday it has increased its price target on satellite television company EchoStar Communications Corp. (NasdaqNM:DISH - news) to $112 from $95.

-- Analyst Marc Nabi made the increase due to the upcoming passage of ''local into local'' satellite broadcast legislation and the successful launch of EchoStar V.

That tech info on the satellite is interesting.

The initial orbit is highly elliptical, do you know how much fuel they will save by that type of orbit? They should be moving the satellite into the final orbit soon.

I would like to read more about the designs of these Ku band satellites, onboard rocket thrust, transponders, antennas etc - let me know if you have a link.

We read often about how DISH has a lot of the good geosynchronous orbital slots over USA. Couldn't the current situation of a scarcity of good orbital slots be improved in the future by using advanced, bigger satellites, with even more transponders, and wider frequency coverage? That would get a lot more bandwidth and services from the same number of satellites.
