Kipling at his best! Almost an eerie calm in E. Timor now. Eye of the storm? No doubt I could find out, but, being at least as lazy as the next guy -- do you know anything about extent of demographic shift under Indonesian domination? Does colonial history (culture and religion) give rise to any natural affinity between Philippines and E. Timor? E. Timor intervention force in place almost reeks of a bluff. Will it be called? Brings Somalia to mind. Looked promising for a moment. Indonesian military a bit distracted right now by domestic situation. Last changing of the guard in Indonesia a real blood circus. Hopefully, they will stop short of sending in the clowns this time. Look forward to your further comments. Mike
