(OT) JQP, Block listing of CNPC on NYSE. Gang I am working with a group who is trying to lobby Congress and the SEC to block the application for listing of the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation on the NYSE. The CNPC is part of a major oil concession in the Sudan in Africa, and has armed and financed the NIF Government of the Sudan so that the NIF Government could kill over 2,000,000 Africans in a savage civil war over the last 16 years. In addition Sudan's Arab Militias raid the Africans in the oil field areas regularly, kill all men over the age of 14, and sell the rest of African women and children into slavery, usually to owners mainly in Saudi Arabia and Mauretania We feel that no US capital should be provided to the CNPC via the NYSE since the Red Chinese Government will simply underwrite continued mass murder and the slave trade in the Sudan with these dollars. FWIW, I bought some more TMR today. There is an interesting little tid bit in this article that indicates that the Russians are extending their fuel oil sale suspensions another ten days. I intend to hold my 60/40% E$P's/OS for the next 2 quarters. It's the earnings comparisons stupid. Damn, I made a lot of money on my OS holdings during the last run. BTW I don't own that much FGI, didn't come close to my investments in FLC, and MAVK. cbs.marketwatch.com On the the bearish side, Chuckie Schumer, is beating the wardrums for the U.S. Govt. to sell oil from the strategic oil reserves and Richardson is considering it. I wonder what Chuckie is going to do when the US oil industry is destroyed and his constituents have to buy ALL their oil from OPEC or God forbid - the Russians. Hmmmmm. Time to write your Congressman? Bring back Senator AL "Pothole" D'Amato. Pleeeeease! <g> C'mon Diana call all your ganz macher pals in the city and tell Chuckie to can it! Maybe Chuckie should consider lowering all those confiscatory NY state and local taxes. I know - the impossible dream! <g>
