scott...

balmer's words are being used as an excuse by the market. if his words were so meaningful and true, then all the holders of any tech position admitted that a terrible charade had been foisted on them and it took the words of one whose personal wealth is dependent on the stock price to reveal it.

quarter is ending, positions being moved around, got a little too deep and the machines took over. no more, no less, not ballmer's fault.

just gave his opinion and very calculated at that!, no different then gerstner saying "pc is dead"...secret is to read beyond the words at the true intent...

He may have chosen his words carefully BUT were they appropriate?
Ballmer - Was there an alterior motive? None that I know of, but then what I don't know would fill an encyclopedia. Are you suggesting that there is/was a strategic advantage to tanking the market now? Is this a threat to the DOJ to not mess with Microsoft? Did he get a laugh last time he said this and thought it was a good joke?
