SAF, i think you got that 100% right...all Ballmer did was speak the truth in public. maybe Slick has inured people as to this possibility to such a degree that they find the truth now offensive, whereas lies and deceit (as practiced by many so-called "analysts" who have the temerity to recommend that people invest in these outrageously overvalued stocks) are welcome. i have always held that most people WANT to be deceived, especially when the truth is uncomfortable. nevertheless, i believe all of WS was well aware of the truth in Ballmer's statement long before he uttered it. the people, funds, etc. invested in those crowded trades were just waiting for the first guy to blink...now it's all to the exits at the same instant. crazy, but in it's own way highly amusing.
