schrodinger's equation
I hate to nit pick, and most of this really isn't relevant to most people, but physics really does almost fit into a coherent whole. GUTOE The Grand Unified Theory of Everything. When little pieces are presented wrong they mar the beauty of the explanation.

At any rate Schrodinger showed that these particles that physisists talk about, electrons, photons and the such cannot be considered as if they were little billiard balls. They are spread out in space and their exact position is not a correct concept, It's not just that we can't measure their position, but that they are like smoke cloud, lighter or denser but not entirely in one place.

That in itself has no bearing on whether gravity results from the shape of the universe, or if it results from an exchange of elementary particles. So far no particles have been detected.
