I've never been able to get a handle on the currency markets, so I don't know. It just seems to me that you are only self-analyzing half of your trade. Perhaps the problems you identified in Japan were fully reflected in the Yen's drop since 1995. Perhaps the imbalances in America, which are massive, were not priced into the dollar. To me, when our stock market bubble bursts, nobody will want to own dollars.
