Pumping Of Sudanese Oil Resumed And Fourth Ship Carrying Crude Oil Leaves Port

Khartoum, Sept. 25 (SUNA)- The Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Engineer Hassan Mohammed Ali Al-Toum, announced that pumping of Sudanese crude oil resumed as of Friday morning after the maintenance work on the pipeline, recently subjected to sabotage act, was completed.

In a statement to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the Secretary General, Al-Toum, said the oil pumping was resumed after the necessary tests were carried out.

He said the oil exportation process was not affected by the incident, and that the ship carrying the fourth consignment of Sudanese crude oil left on Thursday in line with the set schedule.

The exportation of the Sudanese oil began on August the 30th after the inauguration of Bashair port on the Red Sea.

Eng Al-Toum had earlier told SUNA that every week a ship leaves Bashaier sea port carrying a shipment of some 600,000 barrels.

The capacity of the pipeline in its first stage is put at some 150,000 barrels per day and is due to soar up to 250,000 barrel per day by next year.

The full capacity of the oil pipeline is put at 450,000 barrels per day.
