Unless there's a pause before the 300mm rollout, I completely agree.

And I don't see a pause happening before then.
There's just too much new demand for chips.

Portable MP3 players are now starting to take off.
Free PCs are sucking up chips at an incredible rate.
Digital TV is about to place even more pressure.
DVD is well into its ramp up.
...and on and on and on.

More capacity is needed now.
And as pointed out in my prior note, any manager recommending to the board that the company put its ability to serve customers into a foundry in an earthquake prone job will probably be able to take that recommendation to a competitor's board because he's quickly going to be 'unemployed' by his current company.
